120,000 SF Multi-Tenant Creative Loft Development

2415 West 19th Street,
Chicago, IL

Project Overview

2415 West 19th Street, Chicago, IL

In early 2017, MANNA purchased this 120,000 SF building in an off-market transaction. Built around 1907, the building features heavy timber loft construction, as well as a higher clear crane bay section to accommodate specialty uses. At the time of purchase, the building was underperforming, with tenants paying below-market rents. MANNA launched a $2M capital improvement initiative, upgrading every aspect of the building and converting it to multi-tenant creative incubator units. The building was branded “The Machine Shop” in honor of its original use. With the new improvements, it soon attracted a talented and diverse creative tenant community. As part of this acquisition, MANNA purchased the adjacent 40,000 SF site at 2000 S. Western Avenue to support the growing need for parking at The Machine Shop.
